An unusual trio (clarinet, piano and body percussion) brought in Siena the cheerfulness of infancy. Alessandro Carbonare, Monaldo Braconi and Salvo Russo menaged to engage the ChiagianaFest audience in an interactive journey into fantasy and joy. They performed great music written by Poulenc, Gershwin, Sciarrino,Ginastera, Zappa and Sollima and put a hint of youthfulness and comedy into their performance. Continua

Riccardo Brengola: i suoi cento anni sulle corde del violino

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Riccardo Brengola’s birth, Chigianafest organized a nice evening with some of his best friends. 52 years after the last concert played by the Quintetto Chigiano, Alain Meunier, Felice Cusano, Federico Guglielmo, Laura Riccardi and Anne Le Bozec performed Brahms’ Quintet op.34 in Palazzo Chigi’s concert hall. The concert has been preceded by a conference in which Alain Meaunier, Guido Salvetti and Nicola Sani talked about Brengola’s contribution to music history. Continua

Costellazione K. is an Accademia Chigiana production that completes the celebrations for the ninetieth birthday of György Kurtág. The show is a tribute to the Hungarian composer in five acts, prologue and epilogue, according to the dramaturgy elaborated by Pietro Babina. An interstellar journey through five imaginary musical planets around Kurtág’s personality is driven by three leading figures of the international concert scene: the cellist Francesco Dillon, the pianist Emanuele Torquati and the flutist Manuel Zurria.
